Dr. Tao Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Warnell School of Forestry & Natural Resources at the University of Georgia. He earned his BS in Forestry from Northwest A&F University, M.Sc. in Remote Sensing and GIS Engineering from ESF State University of New York, M.Sc. in Statistics from University of Florida, and PhD in Geomatics from the University of Florida. Prior to joining UGA, he worked as an Assistant Professor of GIS and Remote Sensing at the Michigan Technological University and as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Geospatial Computation at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
Dr. Liu’s areas of specialty include forest biology, forest management, environmental risk, forest inventory, sustainability analysis and geographic information systems.
